Assistant Director of Communications, North Carolina Textile Foundation
Kam King has experienced the power of philanthropy firsthand, so she is especially passionate about helping others benefit from it. For over 15 years, she has harnessed her writing, graphic design, videography and social media skills to ignite action among audiences at prestigious universities. Alumni, donors, students, staff, faculty and industry partners at The Ohio State University, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and NC State University have been moved to give their time, talent and treasure to support causes close to their hearts.
Today, she serves as the assistant director of communications for the North Carolina Textile Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of NC State University's Wilson College of Textiles. In this role, she has created compelling fundraising proposals, targeting major corporations, foundations and high-earning individuals. She also authors compelling content and creates eye-catching designs that support the foundation's and the college's philanthropic, stewardship and engagement priorities. Prior to this position, she served as the alumni and development communications specialist at UNC Charlotte. She earned a bachelor's degree in strategic communications and a master's degree in public policy and management from The Ohio State University.
